09Aug91 UK: MANCHESTER AIRPORT TO INCREASE CAPACITY WITH SECOND RUNWAY.

A second runway, valued at around £36 million, is set to take off at Manchester Airport, increasing capacity to 30 million passengers a year by the turn of the century.Three possible areas for the 2.5 km runway have been identified and the airport is about to embark on a feasibility study to examine physical, environmental and operational issues.The airport's board will make its final choice within a year and submit a formal planning application in 1993.The contract will go out ...
