One of Britain's biggest freestanding tower cranes is helping to build the 17-storey head office of Barclays Bank in Lombard Street, London.The 113 m high crane was supplied and erected last week by Record Potain.A 60 m jib was lowered into place with the help of another 200 tonne mobile crane before the Potain K3/59B was telescoped up to its full height.The shell and core of the head office is expected to be finished by contractor Costain in spring 1993.
