The mayor of Toulouse in south-west France said the French government had agreed to put at least FFr500 million (£57 million) into a second metro line for the city, with the go-ahead for construction expected at the end of this year. Bordeaux's town council has also given the green light to a Matra urban rail scheme, expected to cost FFr6 billion (£680 million). CONSTRUCTION NEWS
