Shepway District Council plans to invite tenders in July for the £14 million phase two of the Hythe coastal protection scheme in Kent.The job entails creating new beaches between Sandgate and Hythe to stop further erosion, and involves more than 1 million cu m of shingle and gravel.- Costain is about to be awarded phase one of the scheme, which includes the construction of two rock groynes.
