Plasterboard manufacturer Knauf has set up a special team to develop the company's involvement in the fire protection sector.The four-man team - Mark Gillott, Hugh Dale, Simon Hedley and Greg Curtis - will offer technical support to all users of Knauf's products who are involved in fire protection. All members of the team have ample experience in the fire protection sector, says Knauf.Last year, Knauf introduced its first fire protection product to the UK market.Fireboard, made at the company's Humberside plant, is used for frameless column and beam encasement, walls and ceilings and ducting protection. It has already been used successfully in mainland Europe, says Knauf.Formation of the team is the latest move by the company into fire protection.Last year Knauf joined the Association of Specialist Fire Protection Contractors and Manufacturers (ASFPCM) and the Fire Safety Development Group (FSDG).
