The owners of the Maidstone shopping centre destroyed by fire last year have issued a writ against the designers and the contractor.It took more than 100 firefighters to contain the blaze at the Grove Green complex.The writ has been issued by Maidstone Grove, Arrows, ICE Group and BNP Mortgages against Norman Hitchcox Partnership, Downey and Copp, Anthony Jay Partnership and Ward Holdings.They allege breach of deed of warranty and/or negligence and/or breach of statutory duty.This writ follows one issued by Tesco, which had a store in the centre. That alleged negligence against the architect and Maidstone Borough Council. CONSTRUCTION NEWS
