13Jan94 MALAYSIA: LAING PAYS FOR STAKE IN MALAYSIA.

John Laing is paying £12 million to take a stake in a Malaysian power company for which it is project-managing construction of two power stations.The group's subsidiary, JL Investment Singapore Private, has agreed to take a 5 per cent stake in YTL Power Generation, which has a licence to build and operate two gas turbine combined cycle power stations in Malaysia.The company is the first of its type to win a licence under Malaysia's policy to privatise its electricity industry.Construction .
