HANSON has announced details of a new brick division to oversee management of the group's two brick makers, London Brick and Butterley.The division's head is chairman Ian Menzies-Gow, ex-chief executive of the Hanson-owned ARC Group. He says the new division intends to provide a 'managerial focus' while leaving the company identities intact.'Both companies have been part of Hanson for eight years ... the umbrella has always been there, but now it's at a lower level,' said Mr Menzies-Gow.At the beginning of this year, Michael Rose, formerly managing director at Butterley, became deputy chairman of the Hanson Brick division and Richard Manning became divisional managing director.Other appointments were Len Jones as divisional operations director, Terry Walters as divisional technical director and Alan Murray as divisional finance director. Kevin Seager, sales director of Butterley and David Lepla, sales director of London Brick are both associate directors of the new division.Both firms will continue to trade independently.
