15Oct92 UK: SHEPHARD PLEDGE TO BLOCK EC WORKING TIME DIRECTIVE.

The Government has vowed to smash the European Working Time Directive before it can be introduced in Britain.Employment Secretary Gillian Shephard told the Conservative Party conference that she would take the fight against the directive to the European Court of Justice.Mrs Shephard said: 'If this directive is adopted it won't come into force for at least three years.'We will challenge it immediately and could possibly be successful before it reached the statute book.'The working time ...
