The Walker Group is confident it will start work in May on a £40 million retail/shopping complex and business park at Springkerse, Stirling.The retail elements will include a superstore of around 7,000 sq m next to a 15,000 sq m non-food retail and shopping complex comprising major do-it-yourself stores, a garden centre and other shops.The scheme will also feature a filling station and discussions a well advanced with fast-food operators.The business park will eventually cover around 25,000 sq m and include office development.Infrastructure work, which will continue throughout the winter, will include a new roundabout, linking the project with the Forthbank sports and leisure complex to the north which is nearing completion.Phase one is expected to create about 200 construction jobs during the two-year building period.Future phases are expected to include a leisure scheme and hotel and feature a high-density landscaping.
