16Aug91 HONG KONG: PHILIPP HOLZMANN AND HSIN CHONG WITHDRAW FROM BIDDING FOR CONSTRUCTION OF LANTAU CROSSING.

Philipp Holzmann/Hsin Chong joint venture has withdrawn from the five groups bidding for the £550 million construction of the Lantau fixed crossing in Hong Kong.The group blamed the high cost of tendering and a lack of bridge building experience as its reasons.Trafalgar House, Costain and Kier International and Franki Kier are the British interests in the other groups.
