16Aug91 UK: WIMPEY CONSTRUCTION WINS £5M CONTRACT TO CARRY ON WORK AT QUADRANT SHOPPING CENTRE AT COATBRIDGE.

Wimpey Construction has been appointed to carry on work at the Quadrant shopping centre, Coatbridge, near Glasgow, which stopped after the site's former developer, Rush and Tompkins, went out of business last year.The Bank of Nova Scotia and Monklands District Council then formed a joint venture to buy and develop the site and awarded Wimpey a £5.1 million contract to finish the job. R and T got about a quarter of the way through the project, erecting the structural steelwork.
