Cheshire-based Sokkia has entered the geographical information systems (GIS) market with a pen-computer based system called LocatorGIS.The system allows detailed maps or plans to be stored on a computer the size of an A4 book and updated on site before being transferred back to an office GIS system.LocatorGIS also enables notes to be made - so operators checking on the location of, say, water valves can also note their condition and depth.Sokkia, Tel: 0270 250525.
