Trafalgar House has struck a deal for a £400 million privately-funded bridge and road contract in China.It will be the first build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) bridge in China, and is regarded as a major breakthrough for UK contractors.Details are being kept firmly under wraps until negotiations are concluded this summer.Trafalgar House has pursued this market and the Chinese contract will be its second international BOOT bridge in as many months. It led a consortium which was awarded the £550 million Tagus bridge contract in Portugal last month. CONSTRUCTION NEWS
