Government officials and fire experts are meeting this week to consider making the installation of sprinklers in superstores compulsory.The move follows a spate of fires which has destroyed superstores around the country.The Fire Protection Association (FPA) renewed calls for compulsory sprinklers at a conference last week.FPA director Stewart Kidd said: 'It is difficult to see why retailers are so reluctant to put them in all new stores.'
