Balfour Beatty has just demolished an overbridge on the M6 during a night-time possession as part of a £37.5 million contract to widen the motorway between junctions 30 and 32 at Preston. The bridge demolition involved a controlled explosion followed by the breaking down and removal of 1,500 tonnes of concrete.
