19May94 UK: THIRD TIME LUCKY - WORK RESTARTS IN FARRINGDON ROAD OFFICE BUILD.

Work has just restarted on this office building in Farringdon Road in central London, which has already seen two builders and a developer fall by the wayside. Work first started four years ago, but builder Redmond Brothers went bust after putting up the steel frame. A second builder, Field Davis, moved on site but went bust after completing the blockwork and concrete floors. The overseas investor promptly abandoned the project, which was repossessed by bankers. But a new developer has bought the jinxed scheme and London builder Carlton Firmin is on site completing the building shell. Structural engineer Peter Roche, of Nickalls and Roche, said: 'We have been monitoring the building over the past two years and it's in good condition.' The developer has yet to decide when to begin fitting out. CONSTRUCTION NEWS
