High production and quiet operation are claimed for the Weldmaker 190SD portable welder/generator set, from Arc-Gen, which is mounted on a barrow-type trolley for manoeuvrability. Said to have the lowest operating noise levels of any unit in its size class, the set can provide a welding output of 60-90 A of DC current. The 190SD can also provide an output of 2 kW AC at 110V, to power electrical equipment on site. An economical Robin diesel powers the unit and is fitted with an auto idle facility which reduces engine running speed from 3,600 rpm to idling when there is no demand for current. An auto shutdown device prevents engine damage should the oil pressure fall, and the generator is also fitted with thermal overload protection. The company is also showing its 270SD Weldmaker unit which is now fitted with a similar type of running gear, as well as an add-on Tig welding accessory.
