Eight firms are chasing the £10-12 million stage one of the Manchester and Salford Inner Relief Route for Manchester City Council.The line-up for the Chester Road/Regent Road scheme is: Nuttall, Amec, Dew, Norwest Holst, Birse, Galliford, Alfred McAlpine-Budge and Taylor Woodrow.Work, due to start early next year and last for about two years, entails 1 km of dual carriageway underpass and on-line improvements to existing roads.
