Boeing, one of the world's biggest aircraft companies, has just completed a two-year US$1.5 billion (£1 billion) expansion of its factory at Everett on the outskirts of Seattle, Washington. Ten contractors worked on the project to provide nearly 387,000 sq m of space for the manufacture of the Boeing 777 jetliner. The aircraft will enter service in 1995.
