£22m housing job offered in York

The Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust is looking for a developer/ contractor to build up to 130 homes at Derwenthorpe, York.

Its OJEU advertisement values the work at £22-25m and a minimum of 123 homes will be built. The higher amount will apply if infrastructure works are included in the package.

The homes will be for a mix of private sale by the successful applicant and affordable housing which will be purchased and managed by the trust. They must be built within three years.

A decision on whether the winning applicant must provide the major site infrastructure work will be made prior to completion of the tendering process.

The trust expects that its development agreement will include obligations on environmental and social benefits, of which further details will given in pre-qualification and contract documents. Pre-qualification questionnaires must be returned by 15 June.
