Norwest Holst was fined £10,000 last Friday following the fall in June of a 4 tonne concrete slab on to the busy A5 road during bridge building work when a temporary restraining system failed. The contractor pleaded guilty to one charge under the Health and Safety at Work Act and was ordered to pay £600 costs.
