Contractors on a south London power station this week started to position 55 concrete Y Beams to form the structure for a concrete slab and ramp.It is the first time the Y Beam has been used in a building, following its launch last spring. The 16 m long beams are being supplied by Dow Mac, part of Costain.The lift is part of Costain's £11.25 million civil engineering and construction contract for South East London Combined Heat and Power at Deptford.
