24Feb94 UK: HULL OF A FIND - CELTIC BOAT PRESERVED IN SEVERN ESTUARY MUD.

Archaeologists unearth the wooden hull of a Celtic boat which has been preserved in the Severn Estuary mud. The boat was discovered by Wimpey workers at the start of ground works on its design and build contract for a Tesco distribution warehouse. The 11 m long boat is believed to have been used by the ancient Britons for trading along the River Severn. CONSTRUCTION NEWS
