A new series of double diaphragm pumps for a range of construction and other applications, is available from Ingersoll-Rand.There are five models in the range with inlets and outlets from 0.5 inch NPT to 2 inches BSP.The smallest pump is portable, weighting 3.4 kg, yet it can pump up to 53 litres/min.Its mainfold is designed for single or dual, inlet and outlet configurations and is available with ball or 'duckbill' checkvalves. The 1, 1.5 and 2 inch size diaphragm pumps are designed for high volume transfer applications and are claimed to move up to 511 litres of fluid a minute. These pumps are fitted with a secondary pilot valve which is claimed to ensure continuous pumping, even at low air inlet pressures or with fluids which have high viscosity.Suspended solids with dias up to 3.2mm (for the 1 inch pump) and 6.35 mm (in the 1.5 and 2 inch models) can also be handled by these pumps. The last model in the series is a 2 inch flap pump which has all of the features of the other pumps in the series, but is particularly suitable for handling abrasives, highly viscous and fibrous fluids, and semi-solids of up to 38 mm dia.The flap pump has a reverse fluid flow (top to bottom), which purges the pump body with every stroke.
