24Sep92 UK: TILBURY DOUGLAS WINS £19M PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONTRACT FROM THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE.

Tilbury Douglas has won work valued at up to £19 million from the Ministry of Defence in North Yorkshire.The firm will provide project management services for new build and refurbishment work at Bourton Barrack at the Catterick Garrison, Richmond, with the mix split about 50-50.Work entails refurbishing garrison accommodation which at present houses infantry in readiness for the return of Armoured Corps from Germany.Construction of garages to house tanks will form an important part of the project.Phase two of the project could include construction of new training facilities but this aspect of the scheme has yet to be finalised.It is understood that all cash available for the job must be spent by1995 and that the scheme should be completed during 1996.
