25Jun92 CHINA: WORK ON HIGHWAY BETWEEN SHENZHEN AND SHANTOU TO START NEXT YEAR.

China road: Work on a 2,900 million yuan (£286 million) 286 km long highway between Shenzhen and Shantou in China's Guangdong province should start early next year. The project will be thrown open to international competition. Meanwhile, five foreign contractors are bidding against 12 Chinese outfits for the Hanzhou-Ningbo road scheme in Zheijiang province.
