25Jun92 KUWAIT: UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS INVITES BRITISH CONTRACTORS TO LINK UP ON MILITARY CONTRACTS.

British contractors are being invited by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to link up with American construction companies to build military facilities in Kuwait.The invitation, which is also open to firms from the other Allied coalition countries, covers the construction of a 4,900 sq m maintenance training centre and a 4,000 sq m weapons training centre at Ahmed Al Jaber air base.Both buildings will have a reinforced concrete floor and foundations with masonry walls clad in facing brick.There will be a reinforced concrete roof for the maintenance block while the weapons centre will have a steel truss roof.The structure will contain classrooms, lounges and all fixtures and fittings are included in the 16 month job. There will also be parking areas.Prequalification forms must be submitted by mid-July.Tenders will be issued in early August for return on September 14.
