Capper P-C has signed a deal with London-based Kitechnology to market the firm's Kitec lightweight cross-linked polyethylene plumbing system.Capper is now the UK's exclusive supplier of Kitec, which can be used for hot and cold water and central heating systems. It is being sold through Capper's 13 branches. The cross-linked pipe can be bent by hand and so requires fewer fittings than traditional materials. This also means installation is faster, says Capper.Kitec pipework is supplied in coil form for easy storage. The material is easily bent and straightened and, unlike most plastic pipes, will not spring back when it has been uncoiled. Neither does it tend to flatten when being bent, says Capper.Ray Francis, sales director with Capper P-C, says: 'Kitec pipework has all the advantages of plastic, together with the benefits of copper.' Kitec comprises two polyethylene layers containing an aluminium core. It can withstand temperatures of minus 40 deg C and pressures up to 77 bar.Kitec is supplied in coils of 50 m, 100 m and 200 m, and is made in diameters of 10 mm, 12 mm, 16 mm and 20 mm.Capper P-C, 0675 467557.
