JCB Hydrapower is increasing the options for mini-excavator buyers with two additional versions of its 1.5 tonne machine. The standard 801.4, weighing 1.4 tonnes, remains but is joined by the 1.5 tonne 801.5 and the 1.6 tonne 801.6.The 801.6 gets a longer boom, larger rams and higher hydraulic pressures, powered by an 18.6 PS Perkins diesel engine. Digging depth goes to 2.3 m, load over height rises to 2.5 m and the bucket tear-out force is 13 kN.The machine gets a wider undercarriage for additional stability and a wider cab for greater operator comfort. The cab also features adjustable hydraulic servo controls and lower noise levels. The 801.5 shares this improved cab, wider undercarriage and servo controls but retains the 801.4's 16 PS power rating and digging capabilities.JCB is also launching the Beaver III hydraulic powerpack, replacing the popular Mk II unit. It features a corrosion-resistant frame, a strengthened chassis and improved engine mountings.Customers can choose between Robin, Suzuki, Honda, Yanmar and Briggs and Stratton engines to drive the unit.
