30Aug91 UK: GOVERNMENT REJECTS PARLIAMENTARY CRITICISM OF LONDON'S BRITISH LIBRARY PROJECT.

The Government has rejected parliamentary criticism of the new British Library project in London.MPs on the all-party Public Accounts Committee said earlier this year that it was 'indefensible' that a steering committee for the project - costing £450 million and due to be completed in 1996 - failed to meet for three and a half years.They expressed surprise that the Property Services Agency did not recognise sooner the inadequacy of its national index of building inflation for controlling ..
