A major boost to industrial orders helped to push up new work won by contractors in the second quarter of this year by 10 per cent above the previous quarter.It was the first quarterly rise for more than a year.But orders were still 12 per cent below the level achieved last year.Private industrial orders in the second quarter of this year were 54 per cent up on the first quarter and 7 per cent up on the same period a year ago.Much of this will be due to the letting of the £450 ...
