30m Scottish leisure plan in search of contractors

DEVELOPERS of a 30 million hotel and leisure complex in Scotland are looking for contractors.

Murray International Holdings and Gillespie Mining have received planning permission for their proposed 140 ha Legbrannock development at Newarthill in Lanarkshire.

They hope work will begin in spring, with development continuing over a five-year programme.

Facilities planned for Legbrannock include a 200-bedroom hotel and conference centre, a football centre with 10 pitches, and an all-weather sports facility for skiing, golf, indoor football and tennis.

A spokesman for Murray International Holdings said it was too early to say whether the work would be negotiated or go out to tender.

As there are many different elements to this contract, we will be casting the net far and wide to make sure we get people who can meet our needs and work well with us, said the spokesman.
