Consultant Faber Maunsell has recommended more than £4 billion worth of transport improvements as the result of the latest multimodal study. The London to south Midlands study proposes major widening schemes on the M1 and M11, bypasses of Dunstable, Luton and Sandy and new rail services between Bedford and Northampton.
