A2 airport route to go ahead

The Northern Ireland Executive has given the go ahead to a £46 million dual-carriageway linking Broadbridge, Maydown and the City of Derry Airport.

Construction on the 6.6km road, known as the A2, will start next year.

Regional development minister Conor Murphy said: "This will help to accommodate increasing traffic flows, resulting in reduced journey times and making the road a safer and more attractive route for east/west traffic on the A2."
