A406 improvements to go ahead

Transport for London has got the go-ahead to improve a vital section of the A406 London North Circular.

The Secretary of State for Transport Ruth Kelly approved the project, which will widen A406 in the Bounds Green area.

Junction improvements will also be included to ease traffic flow.

Subject to having all necessary statutory consents, work on the A406 Bounds Green scheme is scheduled to begin in 2009, with completion in 2011.
