Adams in drive for innovation

THE FORMER head of Europe's largest architectural and engineering design company is joining Laing O'Rourke to drive forward best practice.

Ex BDP boss Roy Adams will take on the new role of executive director of O'Rourke's Radical Innovation Group.

The group oversees new methods and strategies for design and delivery, sustainability, health and safety, human resource development, business development and business delivery processes.

Mr Adams said: 'It's about products and processes. For example, if clients want more covered sports stadiums, could we find a way to do it at 25 per cent of the traditional cost?

'We also want to work more closely with our supply chain.'

Chairman Ray O'Rourke said: 'RIG is at the epicentre of the continual change and improvement process that we are driving through our organisation and Roy will play a major part in the future success.'
