Alan Camp wins Stepney redesign comp

Alan Camp Architects is to develop a design for a scheme to regenerate an area of Stepney, east London after winning a competition held by Swan Housing Group.

The winning proposal produced feasibility studies for a new-build mixed use development that featured 190 mixed tenure homes but still retained and refurbished Brayford Square where the project will be located.

The square is on the edge of the existing Exmouth Estate on Commercial Road.

Alan Camp Architects project designer Simon Thorpe said: “One of the key elements of our proposals is to create better definition between the estate and the busy Commercial Road.”

The firm will now work with the community to develop the final proposal before applying for planning approval.
