Allott & Lomax engineers RAF defence move

ALLOTT & Lomax will act as civil engineer for a 20 million project for the Defence Estate Organisation in Wolverhampton.

The scheme involves relocating the RAF ground training establishment from RAF Locking near Weston-Super-Mare to a new site at RAF Cosford.

The company will design the new communications training building with architect Abbey Hanson Rowe and will let the remaining works on a design and construct basis.

The scheme will also feature several support pack- ages, which include accommodation, an officers mess, a medical centre and sports facilities.

Tenders are expected to be sent out in August. A start on site is expected late this year, and the scheme must be completed by March 1998.
