Amec buys US firm

Amec has bought a US-based water resources planning and management company in a deal worth £1.4 million.

Hydrosphere Resource Consultants has its headquarters in Boulder, Colorado, and has 27 staff.

It specialises on the management of raw surface water and groundwater supply assets

Roger Jinks, President of Amec’s earth and environmental business, said: “The specialist services provided by Hydrosphere represent a growth area for Amec across the United States, as water supply issues increase with population growth, drought and climate change.”
