Amec cleared for complex

AMEC will start work next month on a 12,820 sq m warehouse and distribution complex at the Eurocentral distribution park at Mossend, Lanarkshire.

The beginning of construction work has been sparked by the signing of a prelet with Scottish Power which is based on a 25-year lease.

The development will be on a 4.82 ha site, with completion scheduled for May 1997. Accommodation will comprise an 11,148 sq m warehouse, 1,393 sq m of offices and a detached workshop.

Eurocentral is being developed by Mossend Developments, a joint venture between Amec and the Lanarkshire Development Agency.

In the meantime, Amec Developments has acquired Scottish Powers present premises at Moodiesburn, near Cumbernauld. The site is expected to be resold for housing
