Amec swoops for nuclear business

Amec has bought private-nuclear business NNC Holdings for £25.3 million.
The offer has been recommended to shareholders by the board of NNC and it is expected to be made unconditional by early July this year.

NNC employs around 1,000 people and provides engineering and consultancy services for nuclear facilities in the UK, Canada and across the former Soviet Union.

It produced a £5.6 million profit in the year ended March 31, 2005 on a turnover of £86.6 million.
