Amec's on-line hunt for talent

AMEC has signed up with a new recruitment service in a bid to attract high-flying graduates.

The Inter-Work service combines psychological election techniques and the latest computer technology to match graduates to specific jobs.

Amec's head of human resources David Stagg said: 'We recruit a higher than average proportion of graduates, across a wide range of disciplines.

'Inter-Work gives us access to graduates in a range of subjects from across the UK and overseas.'

Final year undergraduates or post-graduate students can join the Inter- Work system by filling in a questionnaire on the Internet.

Mr Stagg said: 'It will help to combat the misconception among graduates that Amec is just a construction company. We need candidates with skills in everything from architecture to chemical engineering, and Inter-Work should attract these people.'
