Amey and CarillionMouchel to submit final bids for £1.2bn scheme

Sheffield City Council has revealed that the winner of the Sheffield PFI highways deal will be chosen in April.

Amey and CarillionMouchel are to submit final tenders for a £1.21bn road maintenance project in Sheffield.

The two must put in their final bids by 28th February 2012 and a preferred bidder will be chosen in early April.

The refurbishment works carried out through the PFI scheme are set to start in mid-August.

The 25-year deal includes refurbishment work on roads, pavements and streets and tackling a backlog of repairs in the first five to seven years of the contract.
