Amey wins Hampshire highways contract

Hampshire County Council has awarded highways contract to Amey to deliver maintenance services for all county roads on behalf from 1 May.

The contract will also operate as a key element in a new Highways and Transport Strategic Alliance being established by the County Council with the aim of providing a clearer development vision for all future highway services.

Amey beat bids from five other contractors to seal the deal. The contract runs until 2015 with an option to extend it until 2018.

It replaces the current six year contract with Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Services, which comes to an end on 30 April 2008.
