Care home and retirement housing provider Anchor has appointed build asset consultancy EC Harris to carry out a review of its property services model.
The review will cover how Anchor delivers its repairs, maintenance, improvements and new build functions across its portfolio.
It will involve an audit of external client experiences as well as an analysis of delivery costs against industry best practice benchmarks.
EC Harris head of affordable housing Rebecca Bennett-Casserly said: “With such a broad portfolio of homes, the management of Anchor’s property services is, understandably, no easy job.”
She said the review was aimed at identifying potential efficiency savings.
Anchor head of property Paul Hopkinson said: “This review will lead to some very clear benefits to our customers across our entire property portfolio.”
He said that during 2010-11, Anchor’s property service department managed more than 2,500 planned work contracts, responded to more than 72,000 repair call-outs in addition to handling asset disposal, asset management strategy and managing service contracts.
