Anglo-Swedish link

THE UK and Swedish governments have linked up to promote sustainable construction.

Officials from the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs met Swedish officials at a meeting in Stockholm last week to share ideas on best practice.

Representatives from the Construction Confederation, the Federation of Master Builders, Constructing Excellence and Swedish multinational Skanska also attended.

The FMB's external affairs director Andrew Large said: 'Sweden is ahead in developing the technology but we are ahead in commercial practice. We are hoping to gain a mix of the two.'
