Ardmore in the frame

ARDMORE looks set to secure a £17 million housing project in a rundown area of Plymouth.

The firm has seen off rival bids from Kier and Cowlin to build 134 homes and 14 shops for the English Cities Fund at Miller Court on Millbay Road.

One source said: 'It certainly hasn't gone to us. I believe they're talking to Ardmore.'

The housing will form the first stage of a plan to build 1,200 new homes by 2008.
