Atkins unveil slim fit tower

Atkins has revealed its plans for a 77-storey super skinny tower in Dubai.

Dubbed P-17, the 379 m high mixed-use tower is located on the Sheikh Zayed road, the city’s main thoroughfare.

P-17 will include 17 floors of office space with 75 service flats and a five-star hotel, based on the middle floors.

The top 18 floors will house 176 residential apartments providing what the firm describes as ‘incomparable views of the city’.

Atkins claim the anorexic-looking construction will change its appearance by utilising staggered blades which splay outwards to ‘convey the appearance of layered planes which move sideways to produce a challenging, gravity-defying form.’

The project will start in November and will last two years.
