Award-winning Welsh housebuilder closes

Six jobs lost at Carms Construction ahead of likely liquidation

An award-winning Welsh housebuilder has closed with the loss of six jobs.

Creditors of Carms Construction will decide whether to put the company into voluntary liquidation at a meeting on 8 March at the offices of insolvency firm Harris Lipman in Cardiff.

The firm, formerly known as Machynys Homes Construction Limited, built the Pentre Nicklaus seaside development of 158 homes and a golf course near Llanelli. The company won awards from NHBC and LABC.

Harris Lipman said the company has ceased to trade and six staff have been made redundant. It added that any decision to liquidate the firm would not affect Machynys Homes Ltd or Machynys Peninsula Golf and Country Ltd because they are separate companies.
